After last week’s defeat the Jays were unstoppable against the newbie’s of the league, beating Whiteknights Wolverines 22 -2 after only 5 innings (mercy rule called).

A big moral booster of a game for the Blue Jays on Thursday 1st May against brand new team the Whiteknights Wolverines.
7 runs for us in the first innings. A 2 base hit for Rob and a good 1st base hit for Rookie Ruth on her softball debut!
Wolverines responded with 2 runs of their own and and unfortunate muscle injury, time for a sub!
2nd innings was an uneventful 0-0 from both teams, but Wolverines' pitcher limped off with an achilles injury...ouch!, resulting in
Mr Gary Green stepping up to the pitcher's mound to up the game!. Even though our captain tried to take him out too, with a swift hit
to the shin!
Good base hitting for pretty much all the team in the 3rd innings, a great 3 base hit for Spyder and Tommy the Helmet finally not being caught
and making base!.
A great 11 runs for the team in the 3rd.
The 4th innings sees another 4 runs for the Jays and the Wolverines not being able to score again.
The 5th was a quick 1,2,3 and out for both teams and the 'Mercy' rule was called at the bottom of the the fifth. Final Score 22-2.
Great play and effort from every Blue Jay involved. Let it continue!

Bank Holiday Week BBQ

Just a quick reminder that we will be having a friendly game tomorrow at home @ 6.30pm as we have no league games.

As the forecast is looking good we will be having our 1st BBQ of the season. There will be a small charge to cover costs (usually £2 or £3). Soft drinks will be be provided but if you want anything harder please bring your own.

P.S. The more the merrier, so bring other halves, family, pets etc................

Subs for 2008

Please remember to bring your subs for this year, either to training on Monday nights or to one of the first league games. This year it has gone up to a staggering £55, but remember we are still the cheapest by far.
